Kenko ZXII UVL41 is ultimate lens protection filter which equipped with Kenko's 'Floating Frame' System Technology. This technology removes the pressure off the filter glass by an special elastic buffer, allowing for higher resolutions. This filter is compatible with 4K and 8K cameras.
The 'ZR01 Coating' used in the ZXII filter series reduces the surface reflection of glass to 0.1% and achieves ultra-low reflection. This reduces the flares and ghosting that can occur when the filter is attached to a lens, and has little effect on the lens's original performance.
The ZXII UV L41 filter cuts ultraviolet rays of 410nm or less for clear and haze-free rendering.
Also, The water and oil repellent coating makes it easy to wipe off dirt. You can take photos without stress when it rains.
Traditional technology of fixing glass elements inside filter frames through hard pressing methods or retaining rings may occasionally cause very slight glass distortions, which can affect resolution performance. Kenko's research shows that the larger the glass element, the greater the glass distortion. We developed a new special technology that aims to minimize stress on the glass and provide the best optical performance of the filter.
By adopting the newly developed 'Floating Frame' System Technology, which provides a special elastic cushion layer between the glass and frame, we succeeded in firmly fixing glass while reducing the pressure to a minimum level. The glass element remains flat, not distorted or twisted inside the frame. We achieved sensational results in resolution performance of the filter that provides the photographer great advantages especially when a 4K or 8K camera is used.
Filters were positioned on glass according to the Newton Standard, which is a flat surface with an allowable margin of error ±0.1μ, and Newton rings were checked. Flatness of the glass is evaluated by the number and form of Newton rings. On the left image there are lots of irregularly-shaped rings, showing the glass surface distorted and twisted. The image on the right shows almost no rings indicating extreme flatness of the ZXII filter.
The 'ZR01 coating' used in the ZXII filter series reduces the surface reflection of glass to 0.1% and achieves ultra-low reflection. This reduces the flares and ghosting that can occur when the filter is attached to a lens.
The Kenko ZXII UV L41 sharply cuts UV rays for clear and haze-free rendering.
